Brooks is an accomplished senior executive with a 30-year career in manufacturing, service, and M&A advisory-based businesses. Brooks is an entrepreneur at heart, having owned and operated, purchased, and sold multiple companies. He has effectively managed multiple functional areas, including sales, customer service, manufacturing, quality, finance, IT, and HR. Brooks has a track record of success in complex organizations, including family ownership structures.
In addition to his role at Jordon Voytek Capital Partners, Brooks owns a kitchen and bath dealership in Winchester, Virginia, which he purchased in 2023. Before this acquisition, Brooks served as Senior Vice President at Murphy McCormack Capital Advisors in Lewisburg, PA, where he was an M&A advisor and relationship manager to lower-middle market, closely held, and family-owned companies. Brooks especially values the importance of preparing and guiding owners through the complex and frequently emotional transaction process. He advised on buy-side and sell-side transactions and closed deals valued over $60 million during his three years with the firm, including a notable $25 million strategic sell-side deal in 2022 to a public company. His expertise includes managing structured sale auctions, preparing buyer lists, company profiles, Confidential Information Memoranda, and Letters of Intent, and negotiating purchase agreements. Brooks received the M&A Source Platinum Club Award and Mergers & Acquisitions Master Intermediary (M&AMI) certification in 2023.
Previously, Brooks was the owner, President, and COO of a third-generation $130 million custom cabinet manufacturing operation. With full P&L responsibility, he oversaw a 1.3 million square foot facility, over 900 employees, and a national sales organization. During his tenure, Brooks led the company through a dramatic restructuring following the 2008 financial crisis, resulting in a nearly $15 million increase in operating profit between 2012 and 2015. His leadership was pivotal during the sale of the business in 2019.
Early in his career, Brooks held significant roles in corporate finance with Fortune 500 companies. He has served as Finance Director at Philips Medical Systems, Senior Financial Analyst at Agilent Technologies, and Financial Analyst at Hewlett-Packard Company. Brooks holds an MBA in Finance, an MEng in Engineering Management from Cornell University, and a BSE in Civil/Environmental Engineering from Duke University.
Outside of his professional life, Brooks enjoys golfing, traveling with family and friends, skiing, and spending time at the beach with a good book. He values family, friendships, personal achievement, humility, wisdom, entrepreneurial spirit, and sportsmanship.
